Young People Leave Nature to the Future with Zero Waste Project
The Youth Exchange Project, which took place in Prague on 20-26 October 2021, brought together young people from Czechia, Italy, Turkey and Hungary Prague, 26 October 2021 - Young people gathered in Prague as part of the youth exchange project "Zero Waste: We Left Nature to Children" youth exchange project in Prague. This unforgettable experience brought together young people from Czechia, Italy, Turkey, and Hungary to raise awareness of sustainability and leave nature to a better future. The project offers a unique opportunity to raise environmental awareness among young people and adopt a zero waste philosophy. Participants aim to achieve these goals by learning waste reduction strategies, understanding the importance of recycling and experiencing lifestyles in harmony with nature. During the project, the young people participated in workshops with experts in the field of sustainability and environmental protection, learned about environmentally friendly practices and became determined to spread the word back home. Two of the important activities were carried out as:
With the ‘’Recycle Me Activity’’ that we have realized in line with the Youthpass Information, our participants could recognize the recycling materials in accordance with our project and were able to acquire the qualifications which are the most important points of the Youthpass Certificate.
‘’Recycling With Selfie Event’’ was carried out in order to ensure further dissemination and sustainability activities in zero waste recycling. The main point of our activity was to inform our participants about the zero waste issue and to convey the aims
and objectives of our project. In this way, our participants have experienced the social activity learning method.
Moreover, this exchange project gave the participants the opportunity to get to know different cultures and build international friendships. At the end of the project, the young people were enriched not only in the field of sustainability, but also in international understanding and cooperation.
One of the project coordinators, Jan Nemec, said: "This youth exchange project aims to help our young people raise environmental awareness and take their own role for a sustainable future. Our young people make us proud with their commitment to leave a better world for future generations."
"Zero Waste: We Left Nature to Children" youth exchange project contributes to creating a greener and more livable world in the future by raising the awareness of young people on sustainability and nature conservation.
